Growing up, Frank studied and analyzed poetic works by Langston Hughes, Tomás Rivera, and Emily Dickinson. Many singers and artists of the past and present have influenced his poetic style, including, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, and Yebba Smith, and Nina Simone. He currently draws inspiration from works by Maya Angelou, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Countee Cullen and many poets of the Harlem Renaissance. His works have been set to music by contemporary composers with the Orange County and Boston areas. Teaching songwriting and lyricism is also a passion. Samples of his work can be heard from his EP, Elegy, which streams on all major music platforms.
Frank Espinosa is a classically trained, multi-genre vocalist who hails from Southern California. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Music from Boston University. He has participated in many operatic scenes from works such as Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Rodelinda, Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Le nozze di figaro, and the Titular role of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. Besides the classical repertoire, he excels in musical theater, ccm (Contemporary commercial music) and jazz . He has claimed national awards and was deemed a winner of the Puerto Rico district and holds an encouragement award from the Gulf Coast Regional during the 2022-2023 season of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. He has performed in ensembles for artists such as John Williams, Andrea Bocelli, Jenifer Hudson, and has worked closely with Pacific Chorale and Pacific Symphony.
Frank has spent much time studying academic coursework in speech pathology, vocal health and science, and stays up to date with the current advancements in singing. He uses this knowledge to ensure his students, no matter the vocal genre, have a strong musical foundation and a very efficient technique. He believes the command of style, technique, and emotional vulnerability are paramount to a student's success. He is adept in the styles of musical theatre, ccm, and is highly trained in teaching and refining singers in the classical genre. He is also adept in teaching English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish diction for singers and taught voice for over 7 years to local students and choral directors within Orange County, Los Angeles, and the greater Boston areas. He intends to use his experiences to guide the next generation of singers and to help spread music to underserved communities.
